Healing Our Earth – GLOBAL GAYATRI MANTRA

Diwali In London committee had put together the idea of HEALING THE EARTH by chanting The Gayatri Mantra that took place on Saturday 11th April 2020 from 12-8 pm UK time

The Gayatri Mantra is a powerful affirmative to Savitur (the Sanskrit name of Sun) where the chanter is protected from negativity, improves health, attains peace of mind and purifies the atmosphere.

Oṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ svah
tát savitúr váreṇyaṃ
bhárgo devásya dhīmahi
dhíyo yó naḥ prachodáyāt

‘Healing Our Earth’ – became an online session run by Diwali in London committee (DiL) members, during Covid-19 related restrictions, with hosts transmitting from their homes and even a Doctors clinic was a base to invoke hope and generate positivity into our homes and Hospitals across the World, attracting overwhelming international response with over 18,000 engagements resulting in the need to extend the airtime.

The Healing Our Earth was a marathon concept put together in less than a week under the leadership of Nil Kumar who energetically turned the DIL committee into MEDIA HOSTS!

Balli Bhalla, Ravi Bhanot, Parul Jani, Kesh Morjaria , Sarita Menon , Anita Nomula, Palavi Patel, Ranu Mehta- Radia, Dr Milen Shah, and Harsha Trivedi, ( in alphabetical order) hosted the marathon session and incredibly despite time zones, saw an overwhelming response from diverse families across continents and countries far and wide as everyone uplifted themselves and others by chanting the Universal Gayatri Mantra in countries including Australia, Canada, India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Malawi, Kenya, South Africa, Thailand and USA.

Thought-provoking video messages and blessings were received from Sister Shivani and Sister Jayanti, Director of Europe of Brahma Kumaris, Head of BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir, Europe – Sadhu Pujya Yogvivek Swamidas, Head Priest Yadagiri Gutta from Telegana, Laksmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, Swami Swaroopananda head of Chinmaya Mission and Swami Brahmavidanada from Aarsha Vidya Foundation.

It was truly humbling to see Dignitaries personally engaging to bring harmony, hope, and inspiration at this time of crisis. Our heartfelt appreciation to Lord Jitesh Gadhia, Lord Rami Ranger CBE, Jeffrey Armstrong founder of the Vedic Academy of Sciences & Arts, Dr. Shamender Talwar, Founder of Unity of Faiths Foundation,

Global audiences were transfixed by talented artistes including Sairam Iyer from India who effortlessly delivered melodious Gayatri Mantra recitals in a male and female voice.

Inspirational Global charitable efforts to support the vulnerable and frontline staff were shared by many groups including Sewa UK with interest expressed by many to become involved in Healing our Earth’s shared initiatives.

Touching messages were received from families affected by the COVID-19 virus, doctors and frontline workers. Health professionals, British Army, Metropolitan Police Service, diverse community members, and talented musicians were played throughout the session.

Safety and well-being discussions were hosted by medics, yoga teachers and survivors of the Coronavirus.

The Corona Virus or COVID-19 is affecting over 209 countries and vast territories globally. In Europe alone, the recorded cases have exceeded 520,000 and numbers are expected to multiply. There have been over 72,000 deaths worldwide from the virus. We have all been mentally or physically affected by COVID-19, be it through economic instability, social distancing or directly by the disease

Diwali in London committee comprises of Akademi, Art of Living, BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir Neasden, Brahmin Society North London, Brahma Kumaris, City Hindu Network, Chinmaya Mission, ISKCON, Metropolitan Police Hindu Association, National Hindu Students Forum, Oshwal Association of UK, Sai School of Harrow, Telegu Association London and Vishwa Hindu Parishad Ilford, which was launched to invoke hope and positive energy into the universe.
