In addition to teaching, she has a part time business committed to helping families save money, which she works around while taking care of her two young children.

Deepa embarked on a holistic and spiritual journey 15 years ago after experiencing the incredible benefits of Reiki healing. She was inspired to work on her personal development and is a Reiki Level 2 practitioner.

Chini, originally from Japan, has lived in London for 20 years. Along with being a Homeopath, a Reiki master, and an Access Consciousness Bars practitioner, she is active in organising self-enlightenment workshops for the Japanese community in London. A recent encounter with Kirtan, yoga of the heart and voice, gave Chini a depth of experience that has led her to pursue singing meditation to add to her repertoire. In this session, Chini will sing an acapella version of the Sukiyaki song ‘Ue o muite aruko’, which is a famous Japanese song.

Taishi Kato is a licensed Shinto priest from Hattori Tenjingu Shrine in Osaka Japan. He was born as the eldest son of a multi-generational family serving their 1000-year-old Shinto shrine. He graduated with MAs in religions of Asia and Africa at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) from the University of London. Taishi recently published the book ‘Shinto Moments’ in English to bring a greater understanding of the way of living with nature to the English language world.

Traditional Japanese folk song

Kaoru and Tamami are both from Japan and are currently living in London. At the same time as being mothers themselves, they have worked as nannies for over ten years. They share their passion for singing Japanese songs with the children they work with as well as for cultural education at events such as the Japanese Festival.

The ‘Sakura’, a song of cherry blossoms, represents Japan, and they are happy to have an opportunity to sing this song for the event. They are both Buddhist and they believe that the singing of this song will help to spread peace and happiness during this tough period everyone is facing due to the virus.

She trained as a Fingerprint Expert. Her work involves examining homicide, serous crime scenes, vehicles and exhibits in a forensic laboratory for evidence recovery purposes. She presents forensic evidence in court.

She is also the current deputy chairperson for the Metropolitan Police Hindu Association, which involves voluntarily offering support to the membership, Met Police Service and communities of London. She is involved in welfare support of colleagues and promoting well-being. As a proud mother of three children, spirituality and well-being are very much at the heart of both her family and professional life for bringing out the best in all.

She has worked as a Movement therapist at Half-way homes, Special schools, Treatment / Rehabilitation centres, Senior citizens facilities and with individual clients for many years. She has received fellowships from the Ashoka International Foundation and Indian Ministry of Culture for her innovations in dance therapy and contemporary dance. She authored ‘My Body, My Wisdom’ a handbook on Creative dance therapy and ‘Contemporary Dance: Practices, Paradigms and Practitioners’ published by Penguin and Aayu publications.

 Tripura is the co-founder of Creative Movement Therapy Association of India (CMTAI) and teaches on many courses and webinars and is on the faculty of CMTAI’s Movement therapy certificate and diploma courses in Delhi, Bangalore and Pune.
