  • Performances included a Kathak dance of Krishna and Radha from Mauritius, a poem on Krishna's joy and Paramahansa Yogananda's chant 'My Krishna is Blue'.
  • An advocate described court cases concerning Krishna's birthplace in Mathura, and a priest spoke about his family's link to Lord Jugal Kishore.
  • Participants recalled childhood Janmashtami celebrations in Mathura and Africa, festival foods made by their mothers, and Krishna-themed artwork made for the occasion.
  • Speakers reflected on Krishna's teachings on friendship, devotion and staying present, and on passing these values to younger generations.

Dr Amrita sharma is an Ayurvedic Physician, life style counselor, mental well being consultant, holistic healer and yoga physiologist. She has her master’s degree in Herbal pharmacology and Business administration in human resources.  Her keen interest in life sciences, yoga and environmental sciences made her combine the knowledge for the wellbeing of people. 
Dr Shama  has published several articles in holistic health magazines, research papers and contributed chapters in book on integrated health. She is a passionate environmentalist, diligent social worker and works for women empowerment through medical camps,community service programs,radio talks and shows. 
She believes “Service to Mankind is the highest dharma (righteous duty)”.

Sharron Rose, MA, Ed, winner of the Filmmaker of the Year Award from the 20th World Congress on Qigong, Tai Chi TCM, Daoism and Natural Healing, is the director/ producer of the forthcoming documentary series, Quantum Qi: The Taoist Art of Nurturing Life. 
 
Sharron has lectured, performed and presented her films in numerous universities, spiritual centers, cultural organizations and museums and was a consultant to the National Endowment for the Arts. She is the author of The Path of the Priestess: A Guidebook for Awakening the Divine Feminine. and is currently completing a cd, The Nectar of Bliss dedicated to the healing power of the Divine Feminine in cultures throughout the world.
